Bustec provides high-performance data acquisition equipment to leading manufacturers in the aeronautic, avionic and automotive industry with a focus on high precision, high density and high throughput. We are currently designing and producing our hardware based on the industry standards for VXI (www.vxibus.org) and LXI (www.lxistandard.org).

The software developed in Bustec ranges from drivers for data acquisition cards featuring ADCs (analog-to-digital converters), DACs (digital-to-analog converters) or digital interfaces to embedded software like real-time data processing on DSPs (digital signal processors) or embedded systems providing RPC or WEB access on embedded PPC and Intel processors. The drivers are developed in C/C++ using Visual Studio and Qt as well as LabVIEW according to the VXIplug&play and IVI (www.ivifoundation.org) standards and are provided as both DLLs (dynamic link libraries) and LLBs (LabVIEW libraries) to the customers.

Our embedded systems are based on the Linux operating system. The necessary software development embraces the full cycle from installing and maintaining cross development environments over successfully creating and operating the necessary boot loader; kernel configuration, compilation and installation up to WEB development for the user interface.

After a recent restructuring of the company, we plan on building up a team of software developers in Shannon that will develop and maintain our production test software and production management software used in the production of our products.

The test software is interfacing with the products to be tested as well as with 3rdparty instruments and test hardware designed by Bustec to provide a maximal test coverage that allows us to provide high quality products to our customers. The management software helps us to organize the workflows and record details necessary for traceability and quality control. Both are implemented so far using C/C++, Qt and LabVIEW, but part of this will be migrated to Python and connected to our cloud based Odoo ERP system. The production and test data are maintained in MySQL databases on in-house servers.

Candidates should have a degree in Computer Science, Electronics or similar with 2+ years of experience in C/C++ development. Basic understanding of electronics required, experience in embedded and/or test and measurement projects a plus.
